Meet the Open Heart Cast
Dr. Casey Valentine: The main character of the series, Casey starts as a new medical intern at Edenbrook, trying to balance career and romance. Throughout the series, they rise through the ranks to eventually become a top resident, facing life-or-death challenges along the way.
Dr. Ethan Ramsey: Demanding but brilliant, Dr. Ethan Ramsey is an attending physician at Edenbrook Hospital. His hard exterior hides a kind heart, as Dr. Ramsey puts the patients under his care above all else. Throughout the course of the series, Ethan learns how his inability to compromise impacts his team, and commits himself to changing for the good of Edenbrook... and you.
Dr. Jackie Varma: Dr. Jackie Varma is an internal medicine intern when you first meet her. Jackie is confident and extremely competitive, eventually leading her to become the Chief Resident with her tough-love, take-no-prisoners attitude. Jackie refuses to let her rocky beginnings hinder her as she fights for the top spot.
Dr. Bryce Lahela: Bryce has never been known to care what other people think, which doesn't help his status as arrogant and pushy among the other surgical interns, though you get to learn a different side to him the longer you spend together in residency. When he isn't elbowing his way to the top, he's supportive and kind to his fellow interns.
Rafael Aveiro: Rafael Aveiro is an enthusiastic and charismatic paramedic working in Emergency Medicine. He's as brave and selfless as he is laid-back and flirty, often putting himself directly in harm's way to save his patients. He eventually comes to realize that his heroics can get in the way of his desire to help people, and he becomes a physical therapist after a life-changing incident at Edenbrook.
Dr. Aurora Emery: Niece of lauded Edenbrook Chief of Medicine Dr. Harper Emery, Aurora Emery is determined to prove herself free from her aunt's shadow. Though sometimes considered aloof and detached, Dr. Aurora Emery is a clever and focused surgeon specializing in Neurosurgery at Edenbrook Hospital.
Dr. Ines Delarosa: A senior resident at Edenbrook Hospital, Ines is one of your mentors during your first year at Edenbrook. She's cheerful, energetic, and endlessly supportive of the interns under her tutelage. She's the softer counterpoint to Zaid, the other senior resident in charge of the interns. Dr. Sienna Trinh: A fellow first-year intern, Dr. Sienna Trinh is tender-hearted and becomes a trusted ally for Casey in their first few years at Edenbrook. She eventually commutes that kind-heartedness to a pediatric residency at Edenbrook.
Dr. Elijah Greene: Dr. Elijah Greene is a cheerful and talented first-year intern. After a life-changing surgery, Elijah decided to become a doctor, intending to develop new life-saving technologies in the research field.
Dr. Landry Olsen: Initially shy and lacking confidence, Landry reveals his true nature as the series goes on as a saboteur, trying to destroy Casey's reputation at the hospital and with Dr. Ramsey.
Dr. Zaid Mirani: A senior resident at Edenbrook, Dr. Zaid Mirani is blunt, often bordering on sarcastic and has a reputation of being kind of an ass among the new interns. He serves as the more serious counterpoint to Ines.

Open Heart wouldn't be possible without Edenbrook Hospital at its core. Whether a starry-eyed new resident or a veteran doctor, as you head up the Hospital Driveway and enter the Hospital Atrium, you know you've got to get your head in the right place to take care of your patients!
